  • “Red Eft Sunset” Screenprint by Logan Schmitt

    A quiet moment, perfectly caught.

This 11" x 14" hand-pulled screenprint by illustrator Logan Schmitt features a red eft— the juvenile stage of the Eastern newt—glowing orange against a soft mossy landscape at sunset. The scene, full of stillness and wonder, was inspired by a real-life moment in the wilds of West Virginia:

“While hiking in Dolly Sods... I looked down and saw a Red Eft walking along the moss at sunset. This was the first Red Eft I had seen in the wild and it was very exciting! I took a picture and did a sketch when I got home.”

    —Logan Schmitt

Rendered in Schmitt’s signature style—bold lines, rich color, and a sense of reverence for the natural world—Red Eft Sunset offers a peaceful, grounded visual that’s both personal and universal.
